I have an iphone 3g thats sitting around now. I want to give it to my wife to use without a data plan. any recommendations?

My wife already has my IP4 so my 3GS just became my bed side alarm clock that I can use occasionally to listen to tunes in bed or Sirius radio.

What carrier? Most carriers make u have a data plan

AT&T requires a Data Plan. I have them... I would recommend you either sell it or use it as an ipod. I gave mine to my 5 year old daughter. Loaded it up with games.

If it's got iOS 4.2.1, you can turn cellular data off, this still let you have SMS Messenging and wifi of course.
I did just that with my old 3g to one of the children.
