With 8 cores, I have read that each core has a lot of overhead. Crucial doesn't even have the right RAM listed here yet (did a pretty thorough search though RAM does hide there sometimes). On my 2.8 dually, what should I expect? Anybody want to suggest a sweet spot for an 8 core?

Really depends on what you're doing with the machine. I don't think the processor cores have much (anything?) to do with RAM usage. How about you start with 2 and go from there?

Should be pretty much the same as with prior 8 cores. 4GB ( 4 X 1 GB ) has a lot to recommend itself by way of memory bandwidth and reasonable pricing.

Would 8gb,or 1gb per core be enough for the new Mac Pros? {3.2 probably] - will mainly be used for 3D apps and PS etc etc.
