So, I definitely realize this is late. But, it's semi-okay since I can't see this friend until early 2010.

I'm stuck on what to get two of my friends for Christmas. They're both very close girl-friends (Note: not dating, not wanting to date, nothing..just..friends). We're all 15, so that definitely knocks out some possibilities.
I'm like...completely blanking out. I don't really want to spend more than $20 for each of them, but I'm a little flexible.

Any ideas?

Perhaps this book? They'll probably have it in stock at a local Barnes and Noble.

I've decided to get one a box of chocolates, since she's completely obsessed, but a big box.

The other one, I can get a ~$20 gift card to somewhere. Any suggestions?

i was going to suggest you borrow 20 from you parents so you would have 60 total and all 3 of you go out to eat somewhere. (not mcdonalds). like a real place. but then theres the whole transportation thing.

Easy cop-out gifts:
- a gift certificate to Borders or some other book store, if they like reading
- a shopping mall gift certificate (usable at any store in the mall) if you know where they like to hang out
- if you know for sure they're into it and don't have it, the next book in a series (e.g. Twilight) or TV series on DVD (e.g. Arrested Development)
- passes to the local movie plex

If they have a fun sense of humor, check out sites like ThinkGeek.com and Threadless.com for fun gadgets, shirts, etc. (Word of warning: don't buy the bacon flavored bubble gum - it's really not as cool as you might think. Bleh!)

I like the idea of putting the money together and taking them to dinner somewhere. Go somewhere a little nicer than you normally do. Ideally somewhere you can dress up a little bit. :)

I taught a leadership development course at a summer camp a number of years back. I had a group of twelve 15-year-olds go through the program over four weeks. That fall, I took them all out to a local steakhouse. Everyone dressed up, took pictures, and had a blast! (I was having a great time too until I got the bill at the end  ;) )

Lol, Seeing As Our Local Borders Closes Down For Good Tonight, And Nationwide Soon After This MAY Not Be Such A Good iDea... :p

You nearby Stockport by any chance? I'm very sad to see the one in the Peel centre go, that was a great place to browse for new books.

I picked Borders as an example. :) Actually I live in Canada so I'd be buying Chapters or Indigo or Coles Books certificates. I'm not that familiar with what you have down there, but the idea is to pick a nice store with a good selection.

if you want to give one of them a gift card think about a pre paid visa debit card. it lets them use it anywhere.
I like the idea of dinner or doing something fun together.
