What to look out for in the iPhone 5?

So my iPhone is being shipped to our place in Canada, where my mom is waiting for it. After receiving it, she's going straight back home- to the Philippines.

And since I'm not there to expect the phone, what should I instruct her to look out for? Any common issues that a non-techy mom can check for? Haha! Aside from the scuffgate issue. ( I got the white. They barely have that issue right??)

Since your mother will not have the time to activate it, if it powers up and is in good cosmetic condition, she should be go to go.
