I'm running 10.4.11 on my G4 PowerBook and am buying an 27" iMac that will have 10.6.x on it. Apple support information says not to use Migration Assistant when going from a PPC to an Intel Mac and to just move files. I'm going to set up my PBook in Target Disk Mode and just drag files over via firewire. What I'm trying to figure out is what files I should bring over.
I plan on manually reinstalling all my applications but I'd like to make sure that my iTunes info, iPod Touch back-ups, etc., get moved. Documents, Pictures, and Movies seems simple enough. I'm also having difficulty in figuring out what ~/Library files I should be copying and where the iPod Touch back-ups are located. Also if there is anything in the /Library folders that I should also copy.
I've tried Googling, searching Apple support, this forum, etc., but haven't had much luck so any help would be gratefully appreciated! Not much out there for those of us still using a PPC.
