what type of display did you get on your new macbook pro? did you upgrade to high res or antiglare

15 hr ag. i have a 14.1" with a 124PPI so i doubt i'll have problems with the 15.4" @ 128ppi

Another poll

I put up a similar, but more focused poll the other day:
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/904163/

I wanted to leave out the hi-res or not question and just focus on anti-glare or glossy.

There's another poll just on which model (size & processor) people purchased:
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/898875/

The more polls the merrier, I find the results an interesting insight into which models are selling the most.

yea I have seen the other polls I want to know how many have purchased high res upgrade. if you read the forums here you would think that everyone gets the high res upgrade. it is giving me buyers remorse. i got a 15 inch i7 and i feel like it was a dumb decsion after reading here. it seems like high res is the way to go.

1) is that just the opinion of a few on here or is the standard resolution too low

2) if the high res is so important why does apple offer it at 3rd party stores or even offer the hr glossey at its own store? i was thinking hey its just an option like glossy vs matte?

3) what type of user should upgrade to high res pro or everyone?

I have the mid-2009 MBP, and I have the antiglare option..

I LOVE IT! I had an XPS 16 with a glossy display and I couldn't use my computer most of the time since my house has a lot of windows. Compared to my friend's 13" MBP, my Mac is perfect for working anywhere..

Glossy displays are great if you sit in a moderately lite room.

I'm planning on buying an i7 15" MBP in a couple months, and I'm upgrading to the HighRes just so I can get AntiGlare

Yet another pointless post about gloss vs anti-glare and/or 13" vs 15" vs 17". I got a new i7 15" MacBook Pro with a screen, yeah it has a screen.

yea after reading this forum i feel like i am the biggest idiot for getting a standard 15inch i7.

I was hoping for a ultra res triple glare++ screen so I could always check out my hair, but nooo :(

I went with the 13" glossy. I think the 13" has plenty of power, plus the formfactor and battery life will make the mobile experience better.

i am very surprised by the poll results. high res gloss is a special order in the 15. the anti glare high res 15 is only at apple stores not 3rd party stores like bestbuy. also 17 incher not doing to well.

After waiting for months , and reading all the threads, I'm gonna get the 15" i7 Standard resolution . I find the HR screen extremely good but i used my mates brand new HR 15.6" Dell XPS 16 and found myself straining my eyes to read stuff after a while.Especially at night or in low light environments.

Std res is not all that bad. Everything still looks great. I have a 24" HR monitor so not bothered about screen real estate.

To each his own. This is purely a personal preference issue. Which means i can pick one up tomorrow !!!!

wwooo can't wait :D

Over here you can walk into any Apple Store and walk out with a high res AG 15" MBP...as long as it is the i7 model without any other upgrades.
