I am thinking of purchasing a MBA later on this year but I do not know what type to get, 11" i5 with 8gb of ram or 11" i7 with 4gb of ram.

I will be doing a lot of word processing, very light video editing and playing games like Garry's Mod, Minecraft, and farming simulator.

PS: I will also be doing objective-c programming
(Xcode)

As far as I can tell a MacBook Air 11" i5 with 8gb of ram is my best bet

3 hours more potential battery life
larger screen
sd card reader

everything else is the same.

I own a 13" myself (and, quite conveniently, am using an 11" to type this post). To be honest, the 11" is a lot more portable. I know it's only a few inches smaller (and a few ounces lighter), but it just "feels" portable. With the new battery life upgrades, I'm seriously considering switching over to a Haswell 11"

RAM. 8GB.

4 is not enough, IMO, going forward.
