Somebody is selling an apparently working PowerBook 3400c.
Supposedly from deceased grandfather.
Password unknown.
Cheap!
If it is an OS level password, no problem, but firmware password I am not sure about.

Can anybody see from the screenshot if it is indeed the firmware password being asked?

Never ran os 9.x which I suppose it runs, so no idea myself ..

I don't think this is a firmware passwd. 3400c doesn't have Open Firmware anyway.

EDIT !!! : 3400c does have Open Firmware, just tried for the first time, "Open Firmware 2.0.1" !
I knew the Kanga had it, but never tried the 3400c... well they are nearly the same, should have thought a bit.

Anyway, still don't think that thing is a firmware passwd, remember buying a Duo 270c secured like that, I had to remove the HD, put in another machine to erase and install a new system, and it worked.
i suppose there on the 3400c, you could boot on a install CD, erase and install.
