I'm pretty sure they're for discounts on the software. I think when I had my old imac with the ilife coupon I could purchase the software for $19.99. I'm not sure what the cost would be now though, I just noticed I didn't get any with the new imac I got Friday. Any idea why?

Hmmm interesting... Maybe because you're already an apple costumer.
I was a first timer at the apple online store last year and they gave me four coupons (2 iLife to Mac OS X) or I think it was 4 each... I don't know!!

They were proof of purchases from back in the day. They never really utilized them from what I remember.

Yep, they're simply proof's of purchase. Wish Apple would change the text on those 'coupons' so they wouldn't be so confusing - seems to be a common question that comes up every so often around the forums.
