I ordered my macbook pro on the 24th of february 2011 and received it on the 8th of march. I have noticed that when making calls through facetime it just doesnt look like 72op quality. hen i make calls with a friend who has an imac his camera quality is better than mine which shouldnt be. I had a look at what version of facetime I have and mine is Version 1.0 (159) but my friend has version 1.0.1 (160). When I jave a look on the app store the current version purchase is 1.0.1 and was released on the 2nd of march 2011. It also asks me if I want to purchase that version. Have I been given the wrong version or something. If I go to update my mac there are no updates for it and I cant find any settings for the camera.

I also got Version 1.0 on my Macbook Pro, but I noticed yesterday that MacUpdate said there was a 1.0.1 but it was tagged as Beta.

I thought Facetime just got updated with the machine, but if you need to buy it over the store to keep it up to date that's a bit stupid.

Thats what I reckon its kind of taking the pee that I have to update and im still not happy with the quality of my camera.

I have 1.0 (159)

App store says 1.0.1 is the current. Doesn't show as an available update for me. If we have to purchase to update that would suck.

Whats does everyone else think of the quality of the camera. I will post my video up in a little while as im sure my camera is not working properly

I got 1.0.1 (160) although not sure if thats the version that came with my Mac as I migrated my apps over from my previous Mac and had purchased Facetime from the AppStore

When did you buy your mac.

I ran various updates at the same time as upgrading to OSX 10.6.7, so it might have been updated as part of that, but i've just looked now and it's 1.0.2 (my MBP shipped on 25th March)

I got mine at like 10AM on 2/24 and I just checked and have 1.0.2, but as stated above, could've been updated through the "Early 11" MBP 10.6.7" update.

Mine has changes to 1.02 now. It was definatily the 10.6.7 update. But it still takes the pee a little bit as before the update came out it was possible for me to purchase the update to 1.02

I have 1.0.2 purchased on 3/30.

BTW the Mac App Store only updates apps purchased through the app store. As facetime shipped with the MBP it won't update through the app store.

Version 1.0.2 (166) on mine, i got mine 17th of march and i updated to 10.6.7

the camera quality seems ok when i have good lighting otherwise it's grainy
