My ship date for my new 15" pbook is 10/10. This is probably too late for panther, but I am wondering when I turn it on for the first time, what version of OS X will it be running? Please don't say 10.2.8, as I think this is the reason for the battery fiasco.

If it is 10.2.6 and the battery life is still as low as everyone says, I might just have to cancel my order and wait on Panther.

i am pretty sure it's either 10.2.8 or 10.2.7

The 17' has 10.2.7

Just been installing a couple at work (unluckily not for myself....); What a lovely piece of work! OMG, the most beautiful laptop EVER!!

i got the 15" 1.25g 2 days after it came out and it came with 10.2.7. I think there is a new build for 10.2.8 which solved the problem with the earlier buil of that version but i am still hesitant to install it. i am perfectly happy with 10.2.7 - if it aint broke than dont fix it - specially if it will f-it up even worse
