What version of X11 in Snow Leopard

I have installed X11 2.4.0 so that's why I am wondering about this. Am I going to have to uninstall 2.4.0? i am a bit nervous about this. I know it can be uninstalled but am a bit nervous about doing it.
What version works with UBuntu remote and the correct keyboard mapping?
"2.4.0 will not be released for SnowLeopard. 2.4.1 will be the first release that can be installed on SnowLeopard. There will be separate Leopard and SnowLeopard packages for 2.4.1 and later."
How did you install X11 on snow leopard? My old version of X11 has problems with keyboard mapping after logging on to my Ubuntu desktop via X11 on the Mac.

X11 was installed automatically when Snow leopard was installed. Maybe I had to check it in the optional installs I can't remember.
