I'm curious if what people are experiencing now with the yellow screens and dead pixels, happened before with the iPad 2.

Did people experience as many problems as they are now with the new iPad?
I understand that only the people with problems are the ones who post, but I have seen more than once people who have returned 4-5 times to get an acceptable one.

Did the iPad 2 have it's own set of problems?
Were there more or less threads about people with problems?

Yellow screen is caused by uncured glue which goes away after use.

The iPad 2, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S launch all had this.

The biggest problem with the iPad 2 was the screen bleeding. Not a big problem, but people made a big problem of it. I have it on my iPad 1, but not a big deal.

I understand this but I was asking if the iPad 2 launch had quite as many people posting about problems as there are now.

Every launch has those nitpicky people who look for the littlest flaw on a device they purchase and return it 50 times before they are satisfied. After a month and those people have theirs it dies down.

Dig back in the forums about 11 months (because the threads kept going for a while) and you'll see plenty of 10+ page threads about every big or small problem imaginable.

It was like getting off work at 5:00 that Friday and waiting in a line of 500. But it was the same. Yellow screens, dead pixels, and overly-worried people.

I had serious backlight bleeding with the iPad 2. Went through about 3-4 exchanges. All of them had the issue. So I skipped the iPad 2.

Also, the ipad 2 launch was insane. It was sold out for weeks at Apple stores. Even drove down to Buffalo to get one but they were sold out there as well.

Have the new iPad now and it's perfect. Was well worth the wait.
