I recently bought a new/old MB pro (it doesn't have the cool trackpad feature.) I would like to upgrade the memory from 2gb to 4gb. What website do you guys use that have fair prices?

Should I be buying special memory?

second newegg. love it. plus i'm so close i get one day shipping

:D same here. I just upgraded my mbp to 4 gb with G.Skill RAM (CL4)...i know its like 15 dollars more expensive than the CL5..but why not? :)

Shipped the 26th, received the 27th. Installed the RAM, tested, and now posting this message. Newegg's CS is very good as well.

The black spot for PQI

I am trying to get an RMA number from them to turn in to SODIMM units (2 gig - DDR2) and they seem to be ignoring me or at best they are too swamped to respond within a reasonable amount of time. It has been since last Friday and no word.

What good is a lifetime warranty if they are unable to honor it.

I third Newegg. Never shop anywhere else. Fastest shipping and recieving on planet earth. Never had a miscue yet and Ive ordered Thousands of dollars in gear..

OWC.

Be careful with crucial, they vary their pricing daily and depending on the machine your on can get a different cost. Many posts here concerning them.

OWC is reliable, lifetime warranty and if you want to trade in your old RAM you get money back!

I see now reason to buy direct from Crucial since you're paying more than their RAM sells for from third party resellers.

For laptop memory I would suggest Newegg.com, Outpost.com, and Buy.com.

But crucial has the better grade RAM with the faster CL. Otherwise I could just buy from micron.

Newegg. Amazon if they ever sell what I need (especially if it's Prime compatible)

I recently ordered 2x2 GB Crucial sticks from Newegg for my new 15" 2.4GHz MBP. However, the MBP didn't recognize the Crucial RAM sticks. Sent them back to Newegg and ordered 2 from Kingston.com. Almost the same price and free 2nd day shipping via FedEx. Very pleased.
