I did a fresh install and I'd rather have the 3GB of space. What are the repercussions besides not having a pre-installed driver? Thanks for your response nomnom's!

No repercussions besides having no printer drivers pre-installed. But maybe you should just remove the subfolders and not the actual "Printers" folder.

I did that on my iBook (which only had 27GB) and had no bad experiences because of that.

HP and Lexmark will come to your house, kick you in the shins, and take your MacBook from you.

Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit... you'll be fine, but as a previous poster said, you might want to delete everything in it rather than the folder itself.

Thanks... was just looking into this and this is what I needed to know.

Thank you!

Thanks for the responses.

My fresh install stemmed from tweaking too many things so I'm trying to keep my tweaking to a bare minimum. I used Leopard Cache Cleaner previously to strip the additional languages etc but "optimizing" safari and other such tweaks caused my system to go into Barry White mode-- or so I think..
