What will happen if the iPhone 3.0 OS doesn't feature copy/cut and paste? Will Cupertino be burned to the ground by mad rioters?

no, people will continue to buy the iPhone. Not only because thats the way it is with Apple products (once you buy one product you buy more and more), but people have been without for two years so obviously it is not a necessity.

1. people will moan and cry
2. those people that moan and cry will download 3.0 on day one, or buy the new device that it comes on on day one.
3. after we'll be told by said people it sucks because it doesn't have copy and paste.
4 six months later we'll get "I love my iPhone but..." threads even though they bought the thing knowing it didn't do it.

Cut and paste

Cut and paste is for lazy thinkers.. I like not having it.... It makes me remember tiny urls and things like that... It's just apples saying use your mind and do give in to the lazyness ;-)

disagree.:)
Laziness and efficiency are differernt thing.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5H11 Safari/525.20)

nothing will happen. People will complain, but that's just a given, no matter what apple does.

And when we do get copy and paste there will be something new to complain about.

lmao.. :D so true.. so true..

once MMS, copy and paste and multitasking/background app is release, people will not jailbreak their phones.
IMO

It's been how many months without copy and paste?

We haven't all spontaneously combusted from the fury of not having it.
Annoying, sometimes. But look at the features they put ahead of it.

APple knows VERY well that C&P is desired.

I'd rather a background app than anything else.
mms would be nice
cut and paste?hmm spose I can get on this bandwagon ....

Let's wait for the software to come out before we complain about it, thanks. :)

Your opinion is already wrong, as I'll still jailbreak.

So then why bother updating the iPhone at all? Why bother updating from the first iphone OS if people are still going to complain? Why make any progress at all if people are going to complain about something? Why bother releasing Snow Leopard, people are still going to complain, right?

i heard there are 27 bombs set around cupertino campus waiting for a trigger if something fails on March 17.

What is scarier is what will all the fanboys and C&P fanatics do if Apple actually releases it? They won't have something to complain about.... MR could take a huge hit in the forums department that day.... haha

You know what's going to happen?

There will be MORE posts/threads complaining about the whining, then what the actual 'whiners' are posting.

How hard is it just to ignore?

Well, if they had landscape texting, people would text so much faster that copy and pasting wouldn't be much of a concern.
