Hi

New to macs here. I am awaiting delivery of a refurbished white iMac 2.16 this week. It comes with Tiger and iLife 06. I intend to upgrade to Leopard when nit comes out.

When I install Leopard, what happens to the pre-installed iLife 06 package? Will Leopard come with iLife 08?

Sorry to ask a silly question

Willie

Jobs once said Leopard will deliver the "entire package".

I don't see anyone talking about it any more. Wonder what's going on.

i think i remember some one saying you can install ilife06 from your tiger install disc on to your computer after installing leopard... if you upgrade and don't do a clean install you don't have to worry about reinstalling ilife though

Steve was refering to the absence of multiple, crippled versions of the operating system unlike Vista.

Yes. Leopard will ship with "the whole package" as Steve quite explicitly said - all those applications that have been added since tiger came out. Specifically...

1) Bootcamp (this was available as a seperate download of a beta version)
2) Frontrow (this was introduced in with an iMac update, but older machines don't have it and neither does the Mac Pro - until Leopard)
3) Photobooth (another app introduced with the iMac when a camera was added - Mac Mini and Mac Pro/PowerMac users were missing out on the fun, but now they can just plug in any compiant USB camera and join in the fun).

The whole package.

Of course unless people watch the keynote and pay attention the to context in which "the whole package" was used they are going to whine about Steve telling lies and cheating them.

Steve was quite clear. Bootcamp. Frontrow. Photobooth. The whole package.

it wont come with iLife '08 bc you're not buying a new computer. If you were, THEN iLife would come with it.

You can put your old install disc in after installing Leopard and choose install additional applications and just pick iLife, and it will be installed into Leopard.
