So far we have had news stories about how hot/warm the new iPad gets and starting today the national media has latched on to how people are burning through their data plans by streaming HD video to their new devices. It seems every day or two we have some new news story bashing the new iPad.

So, what will the next thing "wrong" with the iPad be tomorrow on the news?

Apparently some article I just read claims there is some large issue with wi-fi connection (seriously... you'd think this place would be abuzz about it if so. It always is usually before the tech journalists get ahold of it so it was news to me there is apparently some wi-fi issue with it).

It's a carbon copy of what happened with the iPad2, and has always been the way of things here. Some people will be unlucky and have issues, which need to be resolved. But for the most part folks are happy with their iPads.

It's just the way of the world..:)

Is it " bashing" if it's true? Sure, it's getting more attention than it deserves but if a product is consistently praised then you shouldn't be defensive when it occasionally gets called out.

I tell you I love the new iPad's screen
but it sure does get much hotter than expected.

It does seem to really burn through cel data...

I'm at 678MB used already in just a couple days,
that's crazy is there any way to see what is using the data?

Too hot for my liking... but not hot enough to make me toast. I'm returning it!

Have you made sure you turned off your iCloud syncing of documents and data? My first day I was burning through data like crazy and I went through my settings and made sure that all my back up syncing was on Wifi only and not on cellular data.

is this heat case that common? I took mines out of its portfolio and played asphalt 6 for an hour and it never got warm. What apps are you running when it gets hot out of curiosity?

I was just kidding... mine never even got warm enough for me to consider it "warm". It was like touching a chair 10 min after someone sat in it... you can tell it was sat on but it's barely warm. But I haven't been doing any GPU intensive things... just surfing and video really.

the problem is the sensational headline is followed with non-news. Yes it gets warm, but the headlines make it sound like it spontaneously combusts. example

headline: 3rd iPad ships with same fatal flaw

article: no flash.

It doesn't get hot enough to cook eggs properly, thereby creating a health risk!

Salmonella poisoning is no laughing matter!!

The new iPad gives birth. Junior looks alot like Mom, only smaller. Junior weighs in at 12 oz. and is a tiny replica of the new iPad at a size of 7.85.

Next year promises to feature the Big Daddy iPad. At the slim trim weight of 15 lbs. and coming in just under 22 inches, the Big Daddy promises to show all those Android (Apple wanna be's) how to play the game.

So let's get the rumors going, and see how many fish we can catch. :D
