If you're doing heavy video editing in FCPX or Adobe Premier Pro, or heavy 3D work in something like Photoshop CC, it will be of benefit. If you're not - well....not so much benefit then.
 
That NVIDIA is a dedicated graphics card, it helps your computer to draw and calculate graphic intensive stuff onto your display.

Maybe you can tell us your computational requirements and needs and we tell you, if you need that model, if that is why you are asking. It is probably easier that way.

Btw, even if a Mac does not have such a dedicated graphics card, it still has an integrated one, it is integrated in the processor (CPU), and for most consumer tasks, those integrated graphics are more than fine.
