What would cause this?

I hate making a new thread but I am not sure what to search for

Anyone know what would cause this? This just spread and every new window I opened (such as the shutdown window) would appear like this. I remember this happening on my old XP machine but never has it happened on my Mac.

Oh, right! Sorry bout that.

It is a maxed out 17" MacBook Pro from last year.
