If I remember correctly, you won't get "Special" things or bug fixes. But you'll still get security things.

Depends on your OS. IIRC, XP and Vista lock you out from everything but IE and set your background to black. I believe all Windows 7 does is set your background to black and constantly nag you. All the systems also limit your updates to security patches only.

A way to be sure is to not use a pirated version.

Not really. I've had lots of problems with the so-called Windows Genuine "Advantage" program, not using a pirated version. The whole thing is a cruel joke, really.

I saw a lot of issues with XP but so far they've been dropping significantly with the Vista and 7 releases; it is a real annoyance though. I'm just glad they dropped the lockout in the latest updates, the WGA went from fatal to just being really annoying. I guess 'YMMV' would apply here as well.

Don't worry, the Microsoft police aren't going to show up and take your computer away, you just need to purchase Windows instead of stealing it ;)

ya but its just a used version i didnt steal it, secondly windows suck. U never see mac ask u for a serial num

That doesn't mean Windows sucks, it just means Microsoft is concerned about software theft. Apple just doesn't seem to worry about this as much when it comes to OS X.

not just the test, viruses, slow performance, computers made from sheap material- all reasins why it sucks

Why exactly would your Windows installation fail the Windows Genuine test? If you haven't given out your own serial to anyone, you should still be the only person owning it, meaning you will have no problems registering. That is, if you got Windows legitimately. If it's a pirated copy, on the other hand, then you might be out of luck.
