If you wanted an iPhone 3g but ATT service does not work well in your house, would you still buy one? Or would you just use a different phone on a different service and buy an iPod Touch?

In my experience, the iPhone works pretty well in low signal areas compared to other at&t phones.

I work in the basement of a large concrete building and my phone works fine. Coworker's at&t phones don't work at all, or ring occasionally, but a call will never go through.

Cell phones work so poorly in this building that we had to install sprint amplified repeaters to get our nextel phones to work.

Do you have a landline? If you'd be willing to use that while at home, I'd say go for the iPhone.

I would say still get it

I am in the UK and I live outside the town/city areas and get 1 bar of GPRS signal at home, pretty low

the iPhone seems to handle it fine (odd drop off but not often)
