iMac 27", 2.8 i7 Quad core, ATI 4850 512GB, 4Gb, free Parallels 6, no shipping/tax, $1699 (New)

iMac 27" 2.8 i5 Quad Core, ATI 5750 1Gb, 4bg, no freebies, no shipping + tax $1699 (refurb)

iMac 27" 3.2 i3 Dual Core, ATI 5670 512Gb, 4Gb, free Parallels 6, no tax/shipping $1633 (new), or $1439 (refurb, + tax, no shipping/freebies)

Parallels is worthless if you want 3D acceleration. I get 2 fps using Cinebench with Parallels, 28 fps with MacOS and more than 40 fps using Bootcamp.

Core i7 should be the fastest.

Well, since I'm very new to the Mac world, and this would be my first Mac computer purchase, the only thing I thing i would need Parallels for (as far as I know to this point) would be to run a couple of windows naitive work related applications.

How is this machine new? Someone correct me but isn't this the specs from the late '09 iMac?

Well, the listing does not say it is refurbished or used or demo, and the site does not (from what I can find) sell any refurbished apple computers. They have had two that have appeared in the last two days, and both have disapeared quickly. Granted it is my assumption it is new, but there is (was) nothing listed in the ad to indicate otherwise. It is a trusted internet retailer, and I have purchased other items from them in the past. Im sure if you google the specs, the seller will likely appear in the results.

But what do I know??? I'm still new to this Mac stuff.

I'd say the first two will basically equate to the same performance. I guess it just depends on what you want to use it for. If its for fairly normal use, I'd just save the money and go with the i3

From those three option, for what I would do,,, choice is easy:
iMac 27" 2.8 i5 Quad Core, ATI 5750 1Gb, 4bg, no freebies, no shipping + tax $1699 (refurb)

This is based on the following: this ATI is better / faster than the other two [correct?], and the internal HD is 2x size... both of these are items that you can not change [easily, w/o voiding warranty, etc.], whereas Parallels and any other s/w can be acquired and installed at any time.
