"I have a 32gb iphone 4 that i was trying to jailbreak with greenpoison and it failed and now when i press the power button, nothing comes on."

Someone is selling it on craigslist and they are looking for the best offer. If I could get it for a good price and restore it, I might go for it.

Could have been dropped in the toilet for all you know.

See if Itunes recognizes, if not- the Greenpoisn story is bogus.
You cannot brick an iPhone, but you can damage it by other means.

Listen to tigres. I dropped mine in the toilet this past Tuesday and I had to pay the idiot tax of $200 this morning to get a new one because it would not power on(Yes, I tried the tricks like rice and what not).

If you really need to consider looking at the phone, at least try to see if it will power on at all. if not, skip it. It is NOT worth the headache.

Thanks for the advice. It might not matter anyways as they have not called me back.

Step 1 google how dfu mode or YouTube or Iclarified have tuturials. It will upgrade you to 4.3.5 restore.
Step 2 Don't jailbreak it's not for you.

Also forum rules won't let you sell it or solicit even asking can get the thread wastelanded. The forum has a market place when you have been here long enough.

Who said anything about selling it? If I end up buying it, I'll restore it and let my wife use it.

Because most new members here start with what would you pay for this when it's yours. Ok simple answer as little as possible. Offer $100 see if they bite.

I see. But like I posted earlier, they haven't called me back, so I'm assuming they sold it.

Listen to what the bro said above.
If it was as simple as restoring it he would do it himself and sell it for more money.
If someone is selling you a non working iphone that wont power on you're buying it as is you're getting stuck with it. Most likelly has a hardware or water damage or who knows what else.
Stay away from "deals" like that.
