Whatever happened to iTunes movie rentals international?!!!!

I've been waiting for a long time now. But what the hell!!!! Remember this? (see photo)

That was at Macworld two thousand and EIGHT! Later that year? It's been two years now. All this time I've been waiting for this. And still nothing. When are they going to do this? 2044?

It's not like they haven't started with this. Of course they've hedged their bets by not setting a timetable for specific countries. I don't remember whether they achieved their goal of going international with movie rentals in 2008 . It's probably even more difficult to negotiate all these deals for each individual country than they expected it to be in these non-United States of Europe

I COMPLETELY agree with the OP. Where are Movie rentals in the Dutch iTunes store? I have also been waiting for thiss... but still nothing , no rentals , not even rumors of it coming to the dutch store.....
