I remember Apple released an iOS beta that would switch your wifi to cellular if there was no connection and vice versa!

So whatever happened to that? I thought that would be very innovative for once. Do you guys think Apple will bring that feature back with iOS 7?

Thoughts?

It pops up in beta and get removed in the gm. I think we will see it in beta again. It's a needed technology

The use cellular if wifi is slow/non-responsive?

No, I think it's bad. Or at least needs to be defaulted off.

Consider how many non-techies use iPhones and could run up phantom data plan bills.

As fast as 4G is, it's hard to tell it from wifi. I want to know if WIFI is buggered up. That needs to be fixed, not worked around. I can manually disable WIFI and it'll auto switch to cellular, and that's fine, it's a clear user choice.
