Hoping to find out what I could roughly get for this computer. It is a dual processor. I need to become a bit more portable and I'm hoping the new powerbook pro will do the trick. Thanks for any thoughts?

What means "it is not the PowerPC"?

It is most certainly a PowerPC (G5) machine if it is an Apple.

THe question is whether it is a dual Processor machine produced before Oct 19. 2005, or a dual-core machine produced after Oct 19 2005.

If it is a dual G5 2.5 GHz, then it is most likely the Dual Processor, June 9, 2004 - April 27, 2005 with 8 RAM sockets

Also FYI, there is no Powerbook Pro, the name was introduced as MacBook Pro.

Provided its the 2.5GHz DP Power Mac G5 from late 2004, then I would say ~2,200-2,400. Also depends on what type of video card that is in there. If its the stock video card, it should be an ATI Radeon 9600XT w/ 128MB DDR.

Ah Dual Processor

Thanks for the information and response guys. It is a dual processor then.

Okay then the price that I listed is probably a good "ballpark" figure. Although, $2,100-$2,300 is perhaps a more accurate figure.

Here is a snapshot of the price for a refurbished 2.5GHz Power Mac G5 off of Apple's website. Note that this model has less RAM and a smaller hard drive.
