I've got a MacBook Pro that's 2 years old, not heavily used. I got it from a friend who I was doing some part time work for. I have reminded him that I have it and we are discussing whether I can buy it and at what price. It's got a suite of Microsoft for Mac - Word, Excel, Powerpoint - and hasn't had a lick of operating trouble.

Any suggestions on price?

Should have been "Microsoft for Mac . . . " - Word, Excel, Powerpoint

Technically it should have been "Microsoft Office for Mac", as Microsoft is the name of the company making "MS Office", as it is the name of the company making "MS Windows".
And what has MS Office to do with the buy?

The software is worthless unless you're including the install discs/activation keys with the laptop.

As for the laptop itself, search eBay's completed auctions, as you'll find more than enough information there.

I am amazed how Mac's keep their value. I sold my 5.5 year old 17" MBP 2.16 dual core. It had a few upgrades but $700.00 for a 5.5 year old computer is amazing!
