My good friend's boyfriend is looking to sell his year-old refurbished MBP. He said the only issue it has is that its fan is sometimes loud, but otherwise it is in working order and still has a year of Apple Care left. What might be a fair price for me to offer? He didn't give me a number, but said he originally spent $1100 on it. This would be my first MBP; I use Macs at my job and have been wanting to transition to them at home as well. Any suggestions would be welcome. If there's a thread I should have sought out please accept my apologies. I looked through the first few pages here and didn't see anything. Cheers.

As a starting point, you can check Mac2Sell, eBay, or Amazon for prices of similar models, to get an idea of what a fair price might be.
