I am a graphic designer and would like to get a decent mouse for my iMac. Something that has great ergonomics, functions and also looks really nice too. Can some one here make some recommendations on what would make a good replacement mouse?

I would recommend Logitech and if you can try and have a play around with a few and choose what you like down to feel everyone is different, a good mouse for you is a personal choice but traditionally Logitech and Microsoft bring the quality to this peripheral that few others do.

Actually, I've found that you don't have to spend much money to get a nice mouse, especially after using Apple's mice. I think the current Apple mouse is horrible--hard to hold, doesn't fit the hand in a natural manner and so on. Almost any other mouse, I think, is an improvement. That said, I've found that Logitech and Microsoft make excellent mice. Logitech has the largest selection of mice; it's definitely worth a look on their website.

Do other mice have the various hand gestures available??

Another vote for Logitech.

I used an MX-610 for quite a few years until I finally wore it out.
Now using a "Performance MX" that works quite well.

Rather than the Logitech mouse control software, I find "Steermouse" (shareware) works even better.
