So AT&T is going to give me 200 credit for my black iphone 5 64GB. But since they are letting me get my 6 first and then come in and trade it in, I'm thinking of seeing what I can get on craigslist (don't want to deal with ebay, heard too many horror stories. Yes, I know craigslist has horror stories too but it seems that if you are smart you can avoid them a lot easier than the ebay scammers).

It's almost pristine but it does have some prominent scratches on the front, bottom, left corner of the glass (not on the display itself but they are definitely pretty thick scratches, looks like it got dragged on concrete on that corner. No idea how they got there, I noticed them far after it happened as light has to shine on them and reflect right to notice them but when it does they are noticeable. But yes, they are so out of the way they don't impede anything). I mean even the sides where the 5 was notorious for scratching are pristine.

Think some one will give me 250 for it (no accessories, just the phone)?

I've had a T-mobile 5 on sale in this forum for weeks at $300 and then for the last week at $250. It's absolutely perfect with original box and accessories. Even the EarPods are brand new. No bites. $250 is not going to happen.

Here is some very important advice, which I usually don't give. Any iPhone 5 (black or white, any capacity) will sell for A LOT more if it has iOS 6 on it. FACT.

My verizon iphone 5 32GB went for $300. Box and everything in it was perfect and not used. I had a buyer lined up the day I got my 6 plus.

I would say $200 for a carrier locked iPhone 5, but anywhere from 250-300 factory unlocked. I think your 64GB is worth at least $250. Good luck.

OP, I'd say $200 in the condition you say it's in. You might get lucky and find someone to pay $250-$275.

Have AT&T unlock it first and you can get near $300 for it. I just sold an unlocked 16GB iPhone 5 for $285 on Amazon last week.

I sold my AT&T black 16GB iphone 5 on Craigslist for $280 a week after iphone 6 was released. it is in perfect condition with all accessories and box.

I then sold another White 16GB iphone 5 for $270 two weeks after iphone 6 was released.

both were unlocked and have no scuff. Both buyers bought them to use on Tmobile.

Thank you all for the replies. I think I'll probably just list it on craigslist and give it a few days. You usually know with craigslist pretty quickly if you have any biters (it's just hard to tell what it is selling at cause you don't get to see which ones sell and people on craigslists tend to be all over the board on asking prices with some people with absolutely ridiculous prices and occasionally a dirt cheap price <- like the one I saw today for a 5 that supposedly is in fine condition for 100 dollars).

Unlock it and it'll be worth selling yourself as you get more for it. I've sold every iPhone I've had and always got enough to finance a new one. The last guy I sold one to didn't even care that it wasn't perfect. All he cared about was that it was unlocked for use on T-Mobile.

Can I get AT&T to unlock it after I already signed up for a new contract (haven't gotten the phone yet but I think the contract is already in action)? I know I should have thought about it but I forgot.

what kind of plan did you get? Normally if you have 2 year thing...they can unlock after 2 years.

I just signed up for a new 2 year plan (and getting an iphone 6. My iphone 5 was from the previous contract that expired 2 years ago but now my contract is renewed so not sure they'll unlock the 5 when I'm now under contract again).

T-Mo gave me $233 for my unlocked 5 16GB black. Mint condition. I didn't want to go through all the hassle of packaging, posting listing, shipping, fees when selling online. I guess I could have got about $280-$300 but I don't think I am losing out much after deductin fees and headache from amount.

They'll unlock it if you call as it was on your last paid off contract. They'll know the difference.
