It all depends on what you device is doing while on standby. It can vary depending on how opten it polls for email or social networking, etc.

As an example, I have an iPhone 4, which is now perpetually in Airplane mode with Wifi turned on. It's at 66% or so after 12 days. I've used it for 1.5 hours to surf.

Edit: some moron down-voted me for this post. WTF?

In my experience, anywhere from 0.5% to 1% per hour is normal. I would say 10% overnight (assuming 8 hours) is a little on the high side.

Anything from 0 upwards. Depends what you have running.

1% for every hour?

My phone is on WIFI/3G with no background app running...just lying on the pillow next to me waiting to ring that alarm in my face when morning comes, and I would still wake up with 98%-100%

I usually charge it over night so I'm not sure.
