Be careful going to either of those places. They overcharge for everything. I say try to fix it yourself or as a friend to try and fix it. My guess is that you'll spend close to $100 or more taking it to either of those places.
Also, try to downgrade back to iTunes 7 to see if it solves the problem.

Make sure you uninstall iTunes before reinstalling.
Also, try to downgrade back to iTunes 7 to see if it solves the problem.

Exactly ^^. I've used Geek Squad before and I knew more about computers than the person trying to fix mine did. And they never fixed the issue.

This shouldn't matter as long as your iPod syncs. If it does, you can then try to upgrade to 8.0 and see if it syncs then.
try restarting your computer or reinstaling itunes, it looks like that is a problem that the service isnt started.
Tried it like 6 times. Also i called apple care but i dont want to talk to a computer
I called apple care last night and i was on the phone with them for more then 2 hours. After the results still the same dang message. O and now i keep getting a message at the bottom of my computer that said "found new hardware" then on the bottom of that it said "MTP device".What is that? O and couple other new problem with my computer thanks to apple.
