With every (albeit infrequent) restart of my MBP (early 2011, but running the most current OS), I get "recovered files" folders in my trash. Through searches, I've come to learn generally what causes this, but I've been unable to figure out what program(s) is/are the culprits. Can anybody offer a suggestion so I can see what is hanging my shutdown and likely causing these files to appear in my trash?

It is just temporary files created by some apps and you don't need to worry about it. I notice Pages and Numbers both do this sometimes. I have read MS Office apps also do it.
