Does getting it sent to the Apple Store save any time from it being delivered to my house?

In the past when I ordered things... it seemed to be a day or two faster to get it delivered to the house. This was based on my trying different options before committing to the purchase.

One advantage to a store delivery is if you cannot conveniently wait at home.
