My Computer, My Documents, Recycle Bin? Looks like a Leopard theme for Windows

Bang on :) There's RocketDock too - it can be all fine tuned to eventually get pretty close to Leopard but I'll not bother - I'm happy for Windows to look like Windows.
However, if I could Hackintosh the Toughbook that'd be great but it's not compatible enough.

I loved so much the dock magnification graphical effect when I tried for the first time Mac OS X on my MDD, that I've looked for a similiar effect on windows, and found an app called Rocket Dock. It is very nice and snappy, even on old PCs, but in the end I realized that every PC has its own identity. A windows PC with a Mac theme, looks just weird IMHO.

I really liked Pear Linux OS and still have it on one of my Thinkpads.

Win XP. Yes, I installed Pear OS whilst it was still active on a few netbooks in the past - good looking effort.

Yep, Toughbooks are getting more expensive, got lucky on this one as it wasn't guaranteed fully working but it's ok plus 6 hour battery too.

Yep rocketdock is my favorite customizable windows dock to use as well. For OS9, A-Dock has been my go to as I got so used to using a dock in OSX and RD/winX. But yeah RD is a good one. Now if I could figure out how to stick the 7-day weather forecast objectdock docklet into RD, man that would be a good day :)

That sounds like a challenge more than a limitation. :D

For XP there is an app called Finderbar IIRC that places a menu bar next to the windows menu - if you want to get nearer to it

Thanks - I only did this as a curiosity though, I've already gone back to a standard black XP theme...with all effects turned off naturally ;) Although such CPU penny pinching isn't really necessary - the 1.6Ghz Pentium M clocks itself down to 598Mhz even when playing 720P video.
