Four months ago, 2.0 beta 1 was released. Since then, nothing. Their fourms had been getting hammered with spam posts and now the link to it forbids access. I know its a small group working on the project, but 4 months with nothing?

He's probably busy with school. Of course, trying to implement all of the fancy stuff takes time to do it right, even when you have free time.

There is no standard for beta release schedules. Four months between releases is certainly not unheard of. FWIW, the site works fine here.

i got sick of waiting too.

i used to swear by Shiira, but now i am hooked on the new Firefox

Shiira is still my backup/WebKit browser when Firefox doesn't deal with a site correctly.

I downloaded the new beta but of course, I have to reset everything because it didn't read any preferences. I suppose that's a quick and dirty way to avoid problems with the old preferences.

The browser seems busy with all the little icons but I'm sure it will be incredibly innovative when finished.

I'm also eagerly waiting for the 2.0 final of Shiira, as the current beta version has some functional limitations, as far as I noticed. One example is the bookmark panel which is a great idea, but doesn't work at all.

I also wrote an email to the creator of Shiira last week, where I asked about the project status, but I didn't get a response up to now.
