Sometimes I get a chance to roam around the office and help people who have questions about a webapp we're using. A LOT of the people's Windows XP systems are so friggin' slow and bogged down its amazing they can get anything done! Switching between windows is a big ordeal. I am talking about crippled systems but people keep working on them as if nothing is wrong. Sometimes I ask 'how can you work this way, man?' I mean, its time to get your system over to IT & re-imaged. People are working in a different time warp that just does not exist on Linux or OS X machines. I should work stoned just to slow down to their speed.

::sigh:: Windows is fine. People don't know the impact of their hardware/software configuration. I've never had a problem with Windows.

You know and I know that, but a lot of people obviously don't and why should they have to? On OS X or Linux they would not need to know. To some extent one could argue that these people would have difficulties using Linux, but that argument is losing a lot of ground given the ease of use of distros like Ubuntu & does not apply to OS X.

So they don't get called idiots by Mac users.

Plus, flexible, portable configuration options.
