What's happening to my screen?

I currently have a 27" iMac from 2010. I just noticed this today:

To the left of the cursor, you can see a faint curve/dip. I know it's not part of the image, it is definitely part of the screen itself.

Dude, that's the most out of focus picture I've ever seen. Where is your cursor for hell's sake?
