Sitting
I was just wondering what PCIX and PCIE or PCI cards folk use in their Power Macs. This is to collect information of what works, perhaps you have a card that has drivers to install. Tell us what version you use and details of the card.

I wonder if someone has something rare sitting in the Mac. Why not post a picture.

My Dual 2.5 PowerPC does not have anything in only a Nvidia 6800 graphics card.
My Quad 2.5 PowerPC has the bog standard Nvidia 6600 graphics card

As i remember i have an ati rage 128 pci mac edition in my g3 beige minitower because it was more practical than using the adapter with switches to get VGA

I don't recall what most of my PowerPC Macs have in them, but I do know my G4 equipped PM 8600 has a Sonnet Tempo Trio (ATA/133, FireWire, USB 2), 100 Ethernet, WiFi G, and ATI 9200 cards installed. There was another card I would swap with the Ethernet or WiFi when needed, but I can't recall what it was.

not too much more will fit inside this Mac!

Only two Macs that I have with expansion cards would be my iBook G3 (it has the optional AirPort card, albeit, it's a bit useless in this day and age) and my 7500 which I'm going to put in a Chanpon2'Turbo ATA/FireWire/USB card (look in the ebay finds thread for a picture of it), once I receive it.. It's like a Sonnet Tempo Trio but sold in Japan and much more obscure.

The thing is, I'm not even sure it will work in the 7500 (the USB should as it uses a NEC chip, but the FW relies on a VT6306 which is a bit of a dud apparently...)

I know this thread is a little more laser-focused on desktops, but a thread already exists for this.

That said, I'm putting a Mac-modded Radeon 9250 into Beige Restoration Project (Belfast) so that Jag can stop crashing on boot when it tries to load on the onboard ATI Potato Graphics (I think it's called the Rage Pro II+ or similar-- the one from the Rev 1 Beige not the Rev 2/3).

Oh yeah, forgot to update this... Now this is how my 7500 currently is configured.

In no particular order, on this picture:
- Sonnet Crescendo (?) G3/300PCI
- CHANPON2'TURBO FW400/USB/ATA combo card
- Some generic PCI blower fan.
- Stock IBM HDD
- (not visible but you can make out the dongle mess that powers it) Iomega Z100Si Zip drive

MDD FW400 (Dual G4 1.42 GHz borrowed from another FW800)
- Radeon 9200 AGP (flashed PC Card)
- SIIG WBU2-PC101 (FW800/USB2 combo card)

MDD FW800 (Dual G4 1.42 GHz overclocked to 1.5 GHz)
- GeForce 7800GS AGP (flashed PC Card)
- OrangeMicro OrangeUSB (USB 2.0 5 port card)

These are the usual configurations but sometimes I like to swap the Radeon 9200 with the Nvidia 4600Ti or plug in an ATTO UL4D SCSI card or an ACARD 6890M SATA card depending on projects or new acquisitions.
As boot drives both are equipped with Apacer PATA Industrial SSD (mounted on a 2.5"/3.5" tray adapter)
