whats is Qmaster/quadministrator?

what is Apple Qmaster and apple quadministrator? They appeared when i installed final Cut studio

its for distributing encoding tasks among several computers on a local network.

if you have say 5 macs, you can have a huge render get split up and sent to more than one at a time to shorten render times.

I am frustrated that qmaster doesn't come with FCE. I've got an eMac and a dual PMG4 sitting here just doing nothing.

That's one of the reasons to upgrade to FCP. You can't get everything for that cheap.
