1.) Matte Screen with an all aluminum enclosure (if you have the manufacturing technology, why not use it on the screen enclosure too..?)
2.) FW400
3.) DVI in addition to DisplayPort to make the transition easier (drop DVI at the end of next year and use that free space for an eSATA port then)
4.) An additional USB Port on the right side

what I think is good on the new Pro:
1.) DisplayPort
2.) The new touchpad might actually be very useful
3.) Black keyboard like on the tiBook
4.) The bottom half made from one block of aluminum looks fantastic
5.) The new battery and easy to replace harddrive.

How about a look that does not make it look iMaccish?
That black bezel is awfull! As are the black keys.
I am really dissapointed. The Macbook looks good i.m.o. but the MBP is too similar.
And i prefer a matte screen. And i want to be able to keep using my 23' ACD.

why does every one hate the glossy display. Ive got one on my imac and its is fantastic, the colour stands out better and It just looks great. I like the glossy display.

8GB of RAm would of been great but really I wouldn't of upgraded to anything more than 4GB anyway at the moment. ESATA would of been usefull but firewire 800 will do me fine.

Well apple couldn't do anything about quad cores, because as far as I know the technology for mobile Quad core isn't available.

What I really like about the update is the replaceable HD.

The forced glossy screen is awful and the black bezel is even worse. When I first saw it I thought it was a joke, it screams HP.

I also hate that the Macbook and Macbook Pro look the same. It used to be that the consumer line got plastic, and the pro line got aluminum. Now everyone gets aluminum regardless of price level?
If they were going to give the Macbook users aluminum they should have given us Macbook Pro users a nicer metal.

It's ridiculous that a $1299 and a $2499 computer look the same.

I don't know what Apple is thinking with the Mini DP crap.
You need to carry dongle to connect to any kind of display except the new ACD.
You need two dongles/adapters to connect to HDMI.
Have to spend a lot of money for dongles, especially for dual link.
Can't get any sound from it. Even if it has sound output like regular DP, it is lost when you put a DVI dongle.

I'll stick with my notebooks triple video output (HDMI/VGA/SVideo out), pretty much suitable for every situation, no need to carry any dongles. :)

1) Apple should of used a full sized Displayport. Why? They don't make a Mini-DisplayPort to Displayport cable. At all. So my poor Dell Ultrasharp can't connect so I had to buy the adapter like everyone else, but over the phone so it added time to my shipping date and ugh.

Come on Apple. You are using the "standard". Why no cable?
