My dad has an old extinct Windows XP laptop and we've been trying to connect his laptop his to Vizio HDTV with no luck..

He also has an iPod Touch and was wondering how the quality of Netflix (from the Netflix app) would be if he connected his iPod Touch to the HDTV?

Essentially he just wants to watch Netflix on his big screen tv rather than on his old laptop.

Zero..you can't watch Netflix from your iPod to the HDTV. Get Apple TV or a Wii.

Netflix will currently not stream from a iPod Touch (over the AV cables) although it will stream from an iPad.

I would recommend a Roku HD ($69.00) if he wants to stream it to his HDTV.

I use Sony internet-capable Blu ray players, to play Netflix on my big screens. tell your dad it's time to let loose with some cash to get a netflix-capable device!!
