So I recently sold my MacBook Pro because I only use my iPad and rarely ever used my laptop. However, I do need something with iTunes so I can connect my ipad and iphone to something with all my storage on there.

Should I just get a Mac mini or is there something else recommended for about $450 that would be better than my old Macbook Pro.

the Mac mini i'm looking at is a 2011 i5 500gb hdd and 8gb of ram for $425. My old MacBook Pro was a dual core, 300 something gb hdd and 8 gb of ram.

If you can spend $450, I suggest you add about $230 more, and get a refurbished version of the late-2012 Mini i7 2.3ghz.

Yes, it's more money, but it will serve you better for longer.

And you never know -- perhaps your needs will evolve, and you'll start finding other uses for it, as well.

is it music storage? if so just pay 30 euro a year for iTunes match. also use dropbox, copy.com etc and you'll get lots of free storage.
