Wasn't the cat let out the bag last month?

From what I saw, the build looked done and ready for submission, yet it still hasn't dropped. I know I can use the iPhone version, but the interface is nowhere is near as cool.

What's with the hold-up?

where's facebook for iPad? They use bricks to wall the garden.........

Sorry but the whole "walled garden" saying is just silly. No one says Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft, or any others are "walled gardens" even though they have standards as well and are much stricter then Apple when regarding software on XBox, Playstation 3, or Wii.

Only skype knows why there is a delay, as far as I remember it was just announced recently that they were making one, and it takes time.

Yes but at least all those companies can set solid release dates.

My guess is security problem :D
If anyone can remember there was a problem with the Mac version few months ago.

It's because those are primarily game consoles, and all 99% of the people expect it to do is play games. The iPad is the "post PC", so it's no surprise that people would like it to do everything their PC can.

That doesn't really make sense to the argument. Apple gets hundreds of apps coming through per day, much less traffic than any of the companies I mentioned did, but all are upheld to certain quality measures.

Yes they set release dates but rarely ever make them!

This.

If someone wants a tablet to do everything a PC can then they are buying the wrong product. If they want a media consumption device then an iPad is the way to go. If they want a tablet that runs flash, a playbook or a xoom would be an option.

Too many consumers put a company at blame for not supporting x feature when they should be blaming themselves for not researching before they buy.

anyone download it in time ? would like to test it , iphone version is so weak

Even if they did, they can't share it with you (unless they crack it, and you've jailbroken and patched MobileInstallation etc).

There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting the tablet to do more. Apple isn't just reaching into a grab bag and randomly adding new features to iOS, a lot of this is being driven by customer demand and the ways in which people are using their devices.

Today an iPad isn't capable of fully replacing a PC but at the rate mobile computing is advancing it won't be long before it does.
