Its very noticeable on the White one, but not on the black......i'm curious to know what sensor that is since i dont' see it on my 3gs either

The thing above the earpiece is the 2nd mic for noise canceling.

The front-facing camera is to the left of the earpiece.
 
It is where the other sensors are housed.

On the black one, they are masked by black. On the white, not so much. So instead of big black holes, they choose a grill to hide them.

It is where the other sensors are housed.

On the black one, they are masked by black. On the white, not so much. So instead of big black holes, they choose a grill to hide them.

This sounds right. They had to move the sensors because of where the camera is. On the black one, they are hidden by the tint of the glass. The couldn't do that with the white one, so it appears they had to make a grill in the glass for it.

yeah i think you're right i didn't think about the camera placement and them having to move the sensors......kinda stands out alot on the white tho

Yeah, I think its the ambient light sensor and proximity sensor

Pretty sure it's this ^

The white color just can't be opaque enough to have the sensors work at all, while the black color can.
