What is it good for "HUH! Absolutely Nothing, Say it again"

Sorry could not resist and the song keeps playing in my head now, thanks.

It's not fine for me. Is it mainly for web browsing, itunes, office apps?

That would be fine for that but what if you want more a year from now. Why not step up one notch with 4 gb ram and it doubles the hard drive. But the ram is the biggest.

Amazon free shipping and No Tax. $1,139.99

I was looking to get a gift. It was either this or an iPad2.

I'd say for for the MBA. But like IngerMan said, you might wanna go with 4gb of RAM. If you don't plan on storing much on it then maybe you don't need the extra disk space. I use it to browse, music, microsoft office, tv shows.

I have no idea who you're buying it for, but iPad 2 makes for a better gift because its trendier and cheaper.

A sister that has an iPad but says she can't use it as a primary computer because she can't go on certain websites.

I know!

Hey OP, wanna become friends? ;)

I just bought my brother a Lenovo T520 laptop, my dad a 55" HDTV for his bday, and a 2011 27" iMac, 11" MBA for myself. I'll be tapped out til Xmas.

If I can get the 20% applied to the base 11" I might get that instead of the iPad2.

I have the base 2011 11" MBA and I'm very satisfied. Neither did i feel the need for more ram, nor for more ssd. Of course that might change in the future, but then I'm just going to sell it and buy a different one.

What do you use it for?

Watching movies, office, email, browsing, listening to music, showing photos to my friends.

For all the movies and photos I have, every SSD is too small. That why I carry an ultralight 2,5" portable drive with me with 1 TB of space. But I only conncect it when I really need it, which is about 5-10% of the time.
