Like you, I have the FaceTime Beta. I don't mind paying 99 cents to get out of Beta, but am wondering if there is any real benefit of doing so.

It seems the app still performs exactly the same without any new features or improvements..

..but I could be wrong, which is why I decided to come here to ask.

I understand the the difference is the official app users can see people in HD if the people they are chatting with are using a Facetime HD camera.

Anyone care to confirm or add to this?

I don't think there are any new features. My Logitech HD camera seems to be working in HD (it is, at least, far better than my 2010 MacBook's iSight).

I'm just going to stick with the beta. It'll most likely be included with Lion.

Do not waste your money

its included with Lion
and most likely will be included when Lion is a final release
its only a dollar, yea
but its unnecessary in so many ways
