I've used the Seagate Momentus 750GB HDD and Momentus XT 500GB HDD/4GB SDD with my 2011 MBP 13" and both worked great. I started with the 750GB and replaced it with the 500GB unit.

Samsung Spinpoint is 1TB 5,400RPM with 7,200RPM speeds.

Really???? LOLI HAVE that in my own macbook pro...perhaps i will get that one... basically i bought a macbook pro and I'm trying to upgrade it and sale it.... i just thought that the 7200 rpm would be a better marketing term... lOL hmmm

Hitachi 7K750 is what I use. The Samsung is also good. I have not liked the Seagates or Western Digitals that I've had - awfully vibration prone, but do note I'm very sensitive to vibration.

I had a Hitachi but WD Scorpio Black is probably the fastest in terms of latency and random read and writes. No gimmicks like the Seagate. WD and Samsung and Hitachi are all tops for me.
Seagate added flash memory to the XT because their raw spindles were always in last place. It helped definitely but it seems touch and go with the speed benefits.
I have an SSD now but if not it would be Samsung or WD.
