Do a search here for more info, (even though I know the search can be dodgy at best) in summary, usually you'll find that Transmission is highly praised.

Tomato Torrent is good for quick, easy, couple-at-a-time jobs as well.

Transmission - even though it's widely slated by some - is the only client that I get decent download rates with. (Frustratingly, even though I have a fast - 4Mbps - upload, few people ever seem to connect so my UL/DL ratio is horribly skewed).

i made a search and right seems like more people prefers Transmission...but the problem is that you cannot just download a part of the torrent...

well yup everyone tells that its pretty fast...is it faster than Xtorrent?and does it let you search torrents?

Transmission is the best

I tried Azureus and it seems really bloated...lots of unnecessary stuff

Transmission will be really nice when .80 comes out and allows downloading of only part of a torrent. Until then, azureus is the most feature full client out there.

Why would you only want to download part of a torrent?

xTorrent is not faster than Transmission, in fact it uses the same code as its backend as Transmission only missing some key features like the selective downloading (which you can get if its in the nightlys).

Azuerus is the fastest but the app is horrible, bloated and a memory hog.

Azuerus is the fastest and has the most features. it does take the longest to start up because of Java, but once you have it going its all set. i've never had a problem with it being a memory hog. just on startup and closing times.

Good if you are downloading an album, and only want a few songs instead of the whole shabang.

I use Transmission. It works great, doesn't take up much resources and runs quietly in the background. I like the feature where it tells you the current download speed on the icon in the Dock to save you loading up the app and checking.

Oh, I've never wanted only a few songs from an album - I'm the opposite, I couldn't fathom not having the entire album :)

well another reason,,if you downloaded a free demo app..then found it with the sn as a torrent in some website...you dont need to download the whole folder..you just choose to download the sn =D so xtorrent is better in all ways.:p

When uTorrent is released on the Mac I think it will be hard to beat. I use it on Windows at the moment and find it to be the best torrent application I have used by far.

hey well my friend(mac owner) said that utorrent isnt that good on mac,soo >_>

Azureus has built-in peer guardian

I use Azureus because it has built-in peer guardian. No other torrent application has this built in that I know of :)

pg is a waste of resources.
Your friend does not know what he is talking about. There is no uTorrent client for the Mac at present, it is due for release at some point in the future. The only way to run uTorrent on a Mac at the moment is via Crossover / Bootcamp or Parallels.

Preliminary versions are certainly floating around.

no, Transmission does not have a search torrent function. But it IS fast. which is most important character of a downloading tool, IMHO.
